HitBound® Radio:

BRINGING MUSIC DISCOVERY BACK TO RADIO

HitBound® Radio is a live, streaming-first proof of concept for a discovery-driven radio format built around curated new music, purposeful repetition, daily song debuts, and the shared excitement of hearing something first.

Spotify builds playlists.
TikTok creates trends.
Radio still has the power to break songs.

New music should feel like an event again.

The Problem

Radio used to be one of the places listeners went to discover what was next.

Today, new music is everywhere: playlists, algorithms, release radars, short clips, and endless feeds. But discovery often feels passive, fragmented, and disposable.

Songs appear, disappear, and get skipped before they have a chance to become familiar.

HitBound® Radio brings back something radio has always done well: curate new music, introduce it with intent, repeat it with purpose, and give listeners a reason to come back.

A Discovery-First Format

HitBound® Radio plays today’s emerging pop, rhythmic, and crossover songs before they become obvious.

Not just the biggest songs already dominating every platform.
Not background music.
Not an endless feed.

The format is built around the moment every music fan knows: hearing something new and thinking: “Wait, what is this?”

The HitBound® Debut

Every day, HitBound® Radio spotlights one new song as the HitBound® Debut.

The HitBound® Debut plays every hour for the first 24 hours, giving the song a real chance to be heard, remembered, and felt.

After that, the song continues in elevated rotation, helping new songs move from unfamiliar to familiar.

Listeners don't mind repetition when the songs are brand new.

Flipping CHR Upside Down

Traditional CHR waits for consensus.

HitBound® Radio starts with discovery.

Instead of asking only, “What is already familiar?” HitBound® Radio asks: “What should listeners hear next?”

The format uses classic radio instincts: curation, repetition, momentum, presentation, personality, and trust. But it applies them earlier in the life of a song.

That is the opportunity.

Not to make radio sound old again.

To make discovery feel alive again.

Music Discovery Should Feel Exciting

For listeners, HitBound® Radio is a place to hear what is next without digging through endless playlists.

For artists, labels, managers, and promoters, it gives new songs more than a single spin or a passive playlist add.

For radio and music people, HitBound® Radio is a reminder that discovery was never just about access to songs.

It was about excitement: the feeling that someone found something worth playing, believed in it, and gave it enough exposure to connect with listeners.

What Makes HitBound® Radio Different

Curated, not random

HitBound® Radio is programmed with a point of view. Songs are selected because they fit the sound, energy, and discovery mission of the station, not because an algorithm filled a slot.

New music with repetition

Discovery does not happen from one spin. New songs need enough exposure to become familiar. HitBound® Radio gives new songs enough exposure to break through.

Built for today, inspired by radio’s best instincts

HitBound® Radio is digital, streaming-first, and social-aware, but guided by a simple radio belief: a great station can introduce people to music they will love.

Human energy

HitBound® Radio is not just a feed. It has voice, personality, presentation, and belief behind the music.

Beyond the Stream

HitBound® Radio is designed to live beyond the player.

New music discovery continues through social posts, short-form video, artist moments, daily debut promotion, and listener interaction.

The goal is not just to play songs. It is to create moments around them.

Radio Roots

The HitBound idea goes back to 1984, when Eric Fliegel and Mark Ramsey were working on an MBA consulting project with 98PXY in Rochester, New York.

While getting to know Tom Mitchell, then Program Director of 98PXY, Eric began suggesting new songs for the station’s playlist. One day, he suggested branding new songs as “HitBound.” Tom liked the idea, JAM Creative Productions created a jingle, and HitBound became part of the station’s on-air identity.

Years later, Eric brought the idea back as HitBound® Radio: a 24/7 streaming station built around discovering new songs early, giving them repeated exposure, and making new music feel like a radio event again.

The station is powered by a custom-built rotation system that allows for fast updates, flexible song movement, and discovery-first scheduling. HitBound® Radio also uses Eric’s own purchased JAM jingles, giving the format real radio energy with a modern streaming approach.

New Hits First

It should hit you.
